Location

Enjoy the surroundings of the Land during your stay at ARCA by visiting the local tourist attractions:

Răchitova Fortress, historical monument, 14th century

Less than 500 people live in Răchitova, a secluded settlement in The Land of Hațeg, surrounded by forests and hills, famous for the brandy made by the locals. However, the greatest pride of the community is the medieval tower that watches over the village, an old monument from the 14th century. The tower, with a height of almost nine meters, with walls about two meters thick, was built on a volcanic basket, with rocks of volcanic origin from the medieval quarry at its foot.

Prislop Monastery

Prislop Monastery is a monastery in Romania located near the village of Silvașu de Sus in Hunedoara County. The church of the monastery, a 16th century building, has been declared a historical monument.
In 1564 it was built from the ground up by Zamfira, the daughter of Moise Vodă from Wallachia. It is possible that the old place, whose traces were written in the middle of the 19th century, existed somewhere in the forest, in the vicinity of the current buildings.

House of Volcanoes

The House of Volcanoes is an earthen construction that tells the story of the Earth, adapted to the geological story of the Hateg Country. It is a place where you can find out interesting things about the volcanoes that dominated the Island of Hațeg 70 million years ago and whose traces can be found today in the commune of Densuș.

The House of Volcanoes is part of the UNESCO Geopark Țara Hațegului and of the Ecotourism Destination Țara Hațegului - Retezat.
